ADP Workforce Now Payroll Integration (US)

If you are using 7punches for time-clocking, or have a POS integration that includes labor, you can now export your worked hours directly to ADP Workforce Now.

This feature is available on the Works plan or higher.

The ADP Workforce Now integration requires technical assistance from 7shifts if integrating multiple ADP Company Codes under the same ADP account.

ADP Workforce Now Integration:

If integrating multiple ADP Company Codes under the same ADP account, skip ahead to: Enabling the Integration for Multiple ADP Company Codes
To enable the integration, you'll need to do the following:

1. Hover over to the 'More' menu  > Integrations then click on 'Add Integration'.  

2. Search and select 'ADP Workforce Now' Integration then click 'Next'.

3. Click the 'Connect to ADP Workforce Now' button.4. You will be taken to the ADP website where you will need to log in. 

Click 'Choose an edition to purchase'.

5. Next, select the ADP Workforce Now Connector App, select how many locations, and follow the prompts provided.

You will be taken through the billing details and confirming your order. 

6. Next, to connect back to 7shifts, go to My Apps and then click the 7shifts app icon. 

7. You will then sign into your 7shifts account and be prompted to complete the setup:

8. Navigate to the Integrations page and click on ADP Workforce Now > Settings:

9. Select your Company Code and the Location(s) to integrate, then click 'Save'.

Note: You will only be able to add as many locations as you have purchased in ADP.

Once connected, you will need to Map your Roles & Employees


Enabling the Integration for Multiple ADP Company Codes

The integration will need to be set up in separate 7shift accounts, one for each ADP Company Code.

3. Click the 'Connect to ADP Workforce Now' button. 4. You will be taken to the ADP website where you will need to log in.

5. Next, select the ADP Workforce Now Connector App, select how many locations, and follow the prompts provided.

6. Next, to connect back to 7shifts, go to   My Apps and then click the 7shifts app icon.

8. Navigate to the Integrations page and click on  ADP Workforce Now > Settings:

9. Click the link to contact 7shifts support and receive assistance in completing the set up for your Multiple ADP Company Codes. 

10. Once the 7shifts accounts for each company code have been configured, you will need to set up your integration settings within each 7shifts account individually

You can toggle between your multiple 7shifts accounts by clicking the dropdown found in the top left corner.

11. Hover over the 'More' menu and navigate to  IntegrationsADP Workforce Now > Settings:

12. Select your Company Code and the Location(s) to integrate, then click 'Save'.

Note: You will only be able to add as many locations as you have purchased in ADP.

Once connected, you will need to Map your Roles & Employees


Mapping Employees

In the Payroll Mapping tab, choose whether to split hours by role, then click on 'Map Employees' :

Within the in mapping page, you can:

  • Map Roles
  • Map Employees
  • Filter by (outlined in blue):
    • Location
    • Integration
    • Mapped, Unmapped, or Ignored, All
  • Sorting (outlined in green)


Mapping Roles

7shifts will automatically map any Roles that already exist between 7shifts and ADP Workforce Now. You'll find those under the 'Mapped' heading. Any Roles that cannot be automatically matched will be under the 'Unmapped' or 'Ignored' tab. 

Match any Roles from your POS that are used for punching in, to their 7shifts Role. If the Role is not used, move it to the 'Ignored' section. If you choose to set as 'Ignored,' data will not sync between the integration and 7shifts. 


Prepare your Export File

Before you can run the ADP Workforce Now payroll export you'll need to ensure that you've properly approved all punches and closed your timesheet.

1. Click the 'Time Clocking' icon at the top of the screen, then select the appropriate Pay Period.

2. From there, review and 'Approve' or 'Edit' punches, or choose to 'Approve All.'

3. Once you've approved all punches, you're ready to close the Timesheet and Export your Timesheets to ADP Workforce Now

To close the Timesheet, select 'Close Timesheet' in the top right corner. 

4. After the Timesheet is closed, you can send it to ADP Workforce Now by clicking Export > ADP Workforce Now:

If you see the following error message, you have not completed your mapping. Please see the Mapping Instructions.


Including Paid Time Off (PTO):

To include Employees' Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time hours within the report, you will need to enable these features under your Company Settings.
